The holidays have arrived! And what better way to rekindle some feelings of festive nostalgia than with Fred V and Grafix's 'Vanishing Point,' a (previously) free release off of Hospital's Christmas Cracker 2012. Yes, those sultry basslines... so Christmas-y.
The Christmas spirit is in full swing within the world of liquid drum and bass. Hospital's Advent Calendar is almost over, but you can still download some snazzy free wallpapers from Logistics and Keeno. Today, Keeno is releasing three free tracks off of his Life Cycle EP. Go and get them before it's too late!
In other Hospital news, Beatport is hosting a Nu:Tone remix competition for his track 'Lightning,' fresh off of his new album, Future History. Sure, you probably won't win, but what can be a better Christmas gift than the chance to mess around with a slab of Nu:Tone stems?
And, if you haven't already seen it, Hospital has recently put out an amazing mini-documentary entitled '18 Years and Beyond.' Some of the great tunes and snippets of history we've come to know from Hospital over the years are put on in full display. We also get to see Tony Colman reminisce about his puke-fueled 18th birthday. Ah, memories...

Wilkinson tweets that you can grab a free Wilkinson mix if you sign up for tickets on his website. Speaking of Wilkinson, he's also released a remix for Gorgon City. Wilkinson! Go check it out.
Culture Shock has released a new track entitled 'Raindrops,' along with a VIP mix of 'Troglodyte,' which you can check out here.
Gigwise has premiered The Erised's new video for their lead single,'Pray,' off their debut album set for release in early 2015. Not drum and bass by any means, but it's interesting to see Hospital and it's sister label Med School beginning to broaden their horizons. Pre-order from the Hospital Shop here!
RAM's Frankee has teamed up with Caan for an early 2015 release entitled 'Deep Down,' which was premiered on BBC Radio 1 by Annie Mac. A little poppy for my tastes, but a solid tune nonetheless.
In case you've missed it, Viper Recordings is turning/has turned 10! To celebrate, they've released a Decade of Viper compilation, with classic tracks from Futurebound, Koven, Cynatific, Brookes Brothers, and many others from the Viper family.
Shogun has gone ahead and released their 2014 compilation Shogun Audio Presents: 2014. It features an exclusive release from Technimatic, entitled 'Montecristo.' Technimatic's album Desire Paths, one of my favourite albums this year, was ranked #31 in Thump's Top 50 Albums of 2014. Congratulations Technimatic! Truly well deserved.

UNKNOWN OF THE WEEK: KORONIS
This week, we check out a rising star hailing from Vènka Industries: Koronis. I've had the pleasure of watching this guy grow over the past couple of years through his various postings on various internet forums, and it's inspiring to see how far he's come. Recently, he's had a few releases with EDM.com: 'Sleeper,' 'Pain and Pleasure,' and 'Dresda.' However, my favourite track of his is a remix he did of Matt Lange's 'I Can't Forgive' just under a year ago (which you can also download for free!). Check out his Facebook or his website - the cryptic text and imagery are absolutely wicked.

TUNE OF THE WEEK: TECHNIMATIC - PERSEVERANCE
This week, I've had Technimatic's 'Perseverance' on repeat. I've already mentioned that Desire Paths is one of my favourite albums this year, and it's quickly becoming one of my favourite albums of all time. This tune is an absolute classic and really leaves me excited to see what Technimatic can do in the years to come. With tunes like this one, the future of liquid drum and bass is looking very bright indeed.
